I do not advocate any such teachings that say you must pronounce the Name a certain way to be saved. I do not believe that that lack of correct pronounciation somehow proves you're not really a part of G-d's remnant.

The reality is that G-D answers the heart cry,..Truly He knows the blood lines of HIS children.

This writing also doesn't advocate that Y'shua[Jews for J-sus style] or Yeshua should really be pronounced "**YAH'shua" { **My Preference} or any similar type name which includes "YAH" in it...if you think we have issues with Christology wait till all the prideful Messianics get their AIR TIME...Now that will be a mess.

That is why I lean toward the original Nazarene Covenent

This article deals strictly with the larger issue of the right of mankind to know and use the Name which G-d revealed to us in Scripture.

In Exodus 3:13-15, G-d revealed His Name and commanded it be known and used by the people:

"Moshe said to God, "Behold, when I come to the children of Yisra'el, and tell them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you;' and they ask me, 'What is his name?' What should I tell them?" God said to Moshe, "I AM WHO I AM," and he said, "You shall tell the children of Yisra'el this: "I AM has sent me to you." God said moreover to Moshe, "You shall tell the children of Yisra'el this, 'YHVH, the God of your fathers, the God of Avraham, the God of Yitzchak, and the God of Ya`akov, has sent me to you.' This is my name forever, and this is my memorial to all generations."

By the time of Y'shua, Jewish tradition banned use of the Holy Name, only the high priests [H=Kohen Gadol]could use the Name in the temple. Our bible translations reflect this ban; instead of translating His Name (YHVH -- Hebrew letters: "yud-hey-vav-hey"), the practice is to instead use the Tetragrammaton, "LORD" in place of the Name.

But even a cursory glance through the TaNaKh shows His Sacred Name was widely used and known by those who recorded G-d's Word for us. I believe His Name, YHVH, should be known and used today. "G-d," "L-rd," and "Father" are titles -- they are NOT His Sacred Name. Judaism usually just refers to 'The Name' by saying 'HaShem' (which means, 'The Name'). But we know G-d revealed His Name so we *could* know and use it.

I believe it a grave disgrace that early leaders banned use of His Name (even considering it a sin to pronounce it).

"You shall not take the name of the L-RD your G-d in vain, for the L-RD will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain. Exodus 20:7

One of the reasons for the ban on His Name was to prevent people from using it in vain. The idea was that if the people didn't know the Name, then they couldn't misuse it. But if they can't use it, they also can't meditate on His Name or give praise by His Name either. Scripture indicates the true believer *will* know His Name:

"Those who know your name will put their trust in you, For you, YHVH, have not forsaken those who seek you." Ps 9:10

Mentions of His Name are so prominent in Scripture, the verses below merely scratch the surface:

"Therefore hear the word of YHVH, all Yehudah who dwell in the land of Mitzrayim: Behold, I have sworn by my great name, says YHVH, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Yehudah in all the land of Mitzrayim, saying, As YHVH lives. Behold, I watch over them for evil, and not for good; and all the men of Yehudah who are in the land of Mitzrayim shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine, until there be an end of them. 28 Those who escape the sword shall return out of the land of Mitzrayim into the land of Yehudah, few in number; and all the remnant of Yehudah, who have gone into the land of Mitzrayim to sojourn there, shall know whose word shall stand, mine, or theirs." Jer 44:26-28

"My holy name will I make known in the midst of my people Yisra'el; neither will I allow my holy name to be profaned any more: and the nations shall know that I am YHVH, the Holy One in Yisra'el." Eze 39:7

"God said moreover to Moshe, "You shall tell the children of Yisra'el this, 'YHVH, the God of your fathers, the God of Avraham, the God of Yitzchak, and the God of Ya`akov, has sent me to you.' This is my name forever, and this is my memorial to all generations." Ex 3:15

"and I appeared to Avraham, to Yitzchak, and to Ya`akov, as El Shaddai; but by my name YHVH I was not known to them." Ex 6:3

"but indeed for this cause I have made you stand: to show you my power, and that my name may be declared throughout all the eretz;" Ex 9:16

"You shall not swear by my name falsely, and profane the name of your God: I am YHVH." Lev 19:12

"You shall not profane my holy name; but I will be made holy among the children of Yisra'el: I am YHVH who makes you holy," Lev 22:32

"So they shall put my name on the children of Yisra'el; and I will bless them." Numbers 6:27

"YHVH has established his word that he spoke; for I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Yisra'el, as YHVH promised, and have built the house for the name of the YHVH, the God of Yisra'el." 1Ki 8:20

"YHVH said, I will remove Yehudah also out of my sight, as I have removed Yisra'el, and I will cast off this city which I have chosen, even Yerushalayim, and the house of which I said, My name shall be there." 2Ki 23:27

"But when he sees his children, the work of my hands, in the midst of him, they shall sanctify my name; yes, they shall sanctify the Holy One of Ya`akov, and shall stand in awe of the God of Yisra'el." Isa 29:23

"if my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." 2Ch 7:14

"but if you return to me, and keep my mitzvot and do them, though your outcasts were in the uttermost part of the heavens, yet will I gather them from there, and will bring them to the place that I have chosen, to cause my name to dwell there" Ne 1:9

"For your name's sake, YHVH, Pardon my iniquity, for it is great." Ps 25:11

"Because he has set his love on me, therefore I will deliver him. I will set him on high, because he has known my name." Ps 91:14

"Then called I on the name of YHVH: "YHVH, I beg you, deliver my soul." Ps 116:4

"Bring my soul out of prison, That I may give thanks to your name. The righteous will surround me, For you will be good to me." Ps 142:7

"Revive me, YHVH, for your name's sake. In your righteousness, bring my soul out of trouble." Ps 143:11

"I will exalt you, my God, the King. I will praise your name forever and ever." Ps 145:1

"YHVH, you are my God; I will exalt you, I will praise your name; for you have done wonderful things, [even] counsels of old, in faithfulness [and] truth." Isa 25:1

"But when he sees his children, the work of my hands, in the midst of him, they shall sanctify my name; yes, they shall sanctify the Holy One of Ya`akov, and shall stand in awe of the God of Yisra'el." Isa 29:23

"Now therefore, what do I here, says the YHVH, seeing that my people is taken away for nothing? those who rule over them do howl, says YHVH, and my name continually all the day is blasphemed." Isa 52:5

"Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore [they shall know] in that day that I am he who does speak; behold, it is I." Isa 52:6

"Therefore, behold, I will cause them to know, this once will I cause them to know my hand and my might; and they shall know that my name is YHVH." Jer 16:21

"who think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbor, as their fathers forgot my name for Ba`al." Jer 23:27

"Therefore hear the word of YHVH, all Yehudah who dwell in the land of Mitzrayim: Behold, I have sworn by my great name, says YHVH, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Yehudah in all the land of Mitzrayim, saying, As the Lord YHVH lives." Jer 44:26

"My holy name will I make known in the midst of my people Yisra'el; neither will I allow my holy name to be profaned any more: and the nations shall know that I am YHVH, the Holy One in Yisra'el." Eze 39:7

"And I will strengthen them in YHVH; and they shall walk up and down in his name, saith YHVH." Zechariah 10:12

"And YHVH shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one YHVH, and his name one." Zechariah 14:9

"Then they that feared YHVH spake often one to another: and YHVH hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared YHVH, and that meditated upon his name." Malachi 3:16
