Researchers unlock secrets of 1918 flu pandemic








If the government gets their way, you will not be able to get Vit. C to save your own life from the H5N1 flu, or any vitamins at all. This is a huge problem to say the least. God Help us.



WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Researchers have found out what made the 1918 flu pandemic so deadly -- a group of three genes that lets the virus invade the lungs and cause pneumonia.


They mixed samples of the 1918 influenza strain with modern seasonal flu viruses to find the three genes and said their study might help in the development of new flu drugs.


The discovery, published in Tuesday's issue of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, could also point to mutations that might turn ordinary flu into a dangerous pandemic strain.


Yoshihiro Kawaoka of the University of Wisconsin and colleagues at the Universities of Kobe and Tokyo in Japan used ferrets, which develop flu in ways very similar to humans.


Usually flu causes an upper respiratory infection affecting the nose and throat, as well as so-called systemic illness causing fever, muscle aches and weakness.



But some people become seriously ill and develop pneumonia. Sometimes bacteria cause the pneumonia and sometimes flu does it directly.


During pandemics, such as in 1918, a new and more dangerous flu strain emerges.


"The 1918 influenza pandemic was the most devastating outbreak of infectious disease in human history, accounting for about 50 million deaths worldwide," Kawaoka's team wrote.


It killed 2.5 percent of victims, compared to fewer than 1 percent during most annual flu epidemics. Autopsies showed many of the victims, often otherwise healthy young adults, died of severe pneumonia.


"We wanted to know why the 1918 flu caused severe pneumonia," Kawaoka said in a statement.


They painstakingly substituted single genes from the 1918 virus into modern flu viruses and, one after another, they acted like garden-variety flu, infecting only the upper respiratory tract.


But a complex of three genes helped to make the virus live and reproduce deep in the lungs. This is to insure that death will be immanent. Past government flu releases had unexpected survivors, therefore, when this strain was reproduced in the lab, they made sure that it would be lethal.


The three genes -- called PA, PB1, and PB2 -- along with a 1918 version of the nucleoprotein or NP gene, made modern seasonal flu kill ferrets in much the same way as the original 1918 flu, Kawaoka's team found. We know that these two of these are in the nasal flu mist, and even shot are laced with them making receptor sites for the virus to actually attach to this virus in your body. Remember, only Vitamin C at a dose of 300 grams per day for 3 full days, 72 hours at least, will save your life, not Colidal silver, not the flu and virus drugs, but only Vitamin C will save you, and your loved ones.


Most flu experts agree that a pandemic of influenza will almost certainly strike again. And how do they know this? There is already a planned aerosol release planned by the government for purposes of population control. Millions will die, especially the ones who had the flu vaccine, which is being pushed by the government. When vitamins are made illegal on Dec. 31, 2009, there will be no way to protect yourself.


No one knows when or what strain it will be but one big suspect now is the H5N1 avian influenza virus. If you can start taking the Vitamin C within one hour of getting this flu, you do have a chance to live. This flu can cause death within ONE hour. If the government releases this flu before vitamins become illegal, you will have a way to save yourself.


H5N1 is circulating among poultry in Asia, Europe and parts of Africa. It rarely affects humans but has killed 247 of the 391 people infected since 2003. The samples needed to grow more of the virus in the labs were taken from infected victims.



A few mutations would make it into a pandemic strain that could kill millions globally within a few months. Therefore, these mutated strains were made in the lab to accomplish just that.


Four licensed drugs can fight flu but the viruses regularly mutate into resistant forms -- just as bacteria evolve into forms that evade antibiotics.


One flesh eating bacteria was remade in the lab, by teaching a virus to do the same thing, by infecting the virus with splices of the bacteria's genes. This new flesh eating virus will also be released by the government, and congress has already allocated funds to pick up the dead bodies, neatly packaged in body bags by soldiers who have already been trained to do this, with biohazard suits on.


Another virus which has been custom made in the labs, that the government plans to release is a brain shrinking virus. It is a horrible excrusciatingly horrible way to die, but nonetheless, it is already on the dockets for release by the government. Some of the past flu releases were done by Naval ships offshore in the San Francisco area.
