Meanwhile, Outside the Debates...

Six members of Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW) and five civilian supporters were arrested at 7:15 tonight outside the Hofstra University campus, site of tonight’s third presidential debate. IVAW, which is calling for the complete withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq and Afghanistan and full funding for veterans’ services, was demanding that debate officials allow group members to ask questions of both Barack Obama and John McCain during tonight’s debate. An earlier crowd of 400 antiwar protesters has dwindled to about 40 people with about 30 riot police on hand plus several cops on horseback
