GOOD THING they are about to go out of business. I only have $50 in my account anyways. I am considering ordering one of these once a week to help them go out of business. Now I know this means I'm putting my 50 dollars in hard cash on the line but I'll take the risk for the Republic. These are the real documents they sent me. They also informed me that my card would stop working within weeks and that I HAVE NO CHOICE but to use this thing.
What immediately came to mind is that "This thing has an RFID chip in it"

A microwave will "Fix it", but you should only put it in for three to four seconds. -To see what this will do to it, get a DVD you DO NOT want to watch any more and put in on high for four or five sec.

These are basically micro-computers with micro antennae and have micro wiring. Micro wiring (circuit tracers) are EXTREMELY sensitive to certain things like static charges. A static charge from your finger to a motherboard will immediately render a computer useless because it destroys the circuit tracers in a computer within an instant.
I am not sure if the static will have the same effect on a passport but this is so you can understand these things more)

Also you can use a Degausser(used for discharging massive charges) or large magnet.
Its just like a credit card that has been to close to a magnetic field, KA PLLOWWWEE

BTW, lead blocks the signal. A lead lined wallet would work... as long as you keep it safe and away from the mouths of pets and kids. That way you could have the good functions of it when abroad... and block it totally when you want to be in privacy.
Of course my friend Xine says that it would be "way more fun" to just smash it!

But be careful – tampering with a passport is punishable by 25 years in prison. Not to mention the “special” customs search, with rubber gloves.

1) RFID-tagged passports have a distinctive logo on the front cover; the chip is embedded in the back.


2) Sorry, “accidentally” leaving your passport in the jeans you just put in the washer won’t work. You’re more likely to ruin the passport itself than the chip.


3) Forget about nuking it in the microwave – the chip could burst into flames, leaving telltale scorch marks.
Besides, have you ever smelled burnt passport?

4) The best approach? Hammer time. Hitting the chip with a blunt, hard object should disable it. A nonworking RFID doesn’t invalidate the passport, so you can still use it.
